The Cudoni family lived by a creed: No man who kills a Cudoni dies of old age. Filippo Cudoni's grandfather also believed that the only good enemy is a dead one. This story follows Filippo, the oldest of eight siblings, in 1896 southern Italy, as they battle the town mafioso seeking to control their lives. In 1898, Filippo and two of his brothers left Italy via Marseille for Pittsburgh, joining relatives there.
