This book considers analysis and design of hard handoff and soft handoff algorithms. Handoff is one of the key mechanisms in cellular network. A good handoff algorithm takes care of perfect load distribution among different Base Stations, reduce interference, and maintain cell boundary. Different handoff algorithms depending on Distance, Signal strength, Timer have been developed for mobile cellular systems. There is no dearth in literature for handoff mechanisms and algorithms.
