Seasons by the Bay is a collection of poems by Joyce Snyder. Its verse describes the author's connection to place, season, self, and others. Many poems are set near the southern end of the San Francisco Bay where the author lives. Her poetry reflects her growing awareness of surroundings-the beauty and magnificence of white pelicans, barn swallows, jacaranda trees, an ancient redwood, a birch tree, clouds, a hike with newts, and sunrise and sunset.
