First published in 1888, this "Handy Manual For All Classes Of Society" gives detailed instructions for the holding of and attendance at a Ball. All aspects are covered from the correct form of invitation and reply, appropriate costumes, who may dance with whom, the provision of food and drink and, of course, the dances themselves. The original publishers advertised their book as "the newest and most complete Ball-room Guide yet presented to the public.
