Jesus launched the Church, after He was baptized and after He had thoroughly rejected Satan's temptations for 40 days and nights. In mid-December, A.D. 26, Jesus attended a rally led by "John the Baptist" on the bank of the Jordan River. That day, 3 of John's disciples, who helped him from time to time, became disciples of Jesus. They were fishermen from Capernaum. The next day, they travelled with Jesus into Galilee. Along the way, Jesus recruited 3 more followers.
