Huraian

Electrical generators used in power stations of electric utilities are the largest electrical machines and probably the most challenging ones to design. Experience shows that in terms of overheating the stator end portion is one of the most sensitive areas of such machines. This overheating can harm the stator winding insulation and, thus, lead to severe failures. It can be based on both, high losses and insufficient local cooling.
