The phenomenon of sudden job loss (SJL) has existed in the Cayman Islands and globally for decades. This work seeks to understand the emotions that are experienced, and how individuals cope with this life- altering event. A qualitative approach was used to explore and understand the phenomenon of SJL, and the study is presented as a qualitative phenomenological study using a psychological approach.
