Paddy Coil is in a Belfast pub having a Guinness and ploughman's lunch. He is waiting to be joined by CIA Agent Scot Lewis - they have a lead in Londonderry - a body floating in the Foyle - an IRA gun runner thought to have fallen foul to the UVF (Ulster Volunteer Force) or UFF (the Ulster Freedom Fighters part of the UDA Ulster Defence Association). MI5 and police have periodically launched major crackdowns, including recent pressure to dismantle UVF and UDA criminal networks.
